These Terms of Service govern the use of PlotGrove, a private workspace for stories, chapters, notes, lexicon entries, and reader feedback.

2. Test phase
PlotGrove is currently in a development and test phase. Features may change, be limited, or be removed. There is no entitlement to a particular availability, error-free operation, or permanently free use.
3. Account and access
A personal account is required. You must provide accurate information, keep your access credentials confidential, and must not share your account or create accounts for other people.
PlotGrove may temporarily restrict, suspend, or close accounts in the event of misuse, security risks, or breaches of these Terms.
4. Your content and rights
You retain all rights in your stories, notes, and other content. You grant PlotGrove only the rights technically necessary to store, display, back up, and make your content available according to the sharing choices you make.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to your content. You must not upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
5. Private content and reader access
Your content is private by default. If you invite readers, you decide what they may view or comment on.
Invited readers may use shared content only for the intended reading and feedback purpose. They must not disclose, publish, or exploit it without your permission.
6. Prohibited use
You must not attempt to bypass security measures, interfere with PlotGrove, use automated access that harms the service, send spam or malware, or infringe copyright, privacy, or other rights.
7. Availability, backups, and exports
We aim to operate PlotGrove reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. You remain responsible for keeping additional backups of important content.
Where export functions are available, you may use them to keep a copy of your content. If we plan to discontinue the service permanently, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable.
8. Privacy
The processing of personal data is governed by the PlotGrove Privacy Notice.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms where required for legal, technical, or organisational reasons. We will notify you of material changes in advance where reasonably possible. Continued use may require renewed acceptance. Accepted versions remain recorded for the relevant period.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to foreseeable damage typically occurring under the contract. Otherwise, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
11. Term and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may terminate access with reasonable notice, or immediately in the event of a serious breach of these Terms.
After account closure, content and personal data are deleted or retained in accordance with the Privacy Notice and any applicable legal obligations.
12. Final provisions
German law applies. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence remain unaffected. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
